Most of those above have been part of the Sunday for Sammy phenomenon since it began in 2000 and in the ensuing years, the Sunday for Sammy Trust has donated almost £500,000 raised from ticket and DVD sales to help young performers from the region to get a start in the entertainment business.
As brilliant as the performers are, they certainly wouldn't shine as brightly without the support of the many talented writers who supply the hilarious sketches for the show. The internationally acclaimed Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais: the award-winning Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood: and the renowned playwright Philip Meeks have all contributed to the on-stage hilarity. The success of Sunday for Sammy goes on and on, the show is getting bigger and better and in February 2018 it transfers to Newcastle's Metroradio Arena, more than doubling the available number of tickets.
